Common questions

Where is my data?

Only on your device. There's no account or sync yet, so save a backup now and then from Settings → Your data → Back up everything. You can keep it in Files or iCloud Drive.

How do I move to a new phone?

Back up on the old phone, then on the new one choose Settings → Your data → Restore from a backup.

How do I make a card?

In a note, write a line as question :: answer. Or tap Paste notes and use Q: and A: lines, or let AI draft cards for you to review.

How do I turn off AI drafting?

Settings → AI drafting. While it's off, nothing is sent anywhere.

Why do cards come back at different times?

Retentit schedules each card for when you're likely to start forgetting it. Cards you find easy come back less often. You can change the target recall in Settings → Memory.
